These are two burial navetas. This type of construction is found only in thè megalithic settlements in Minorca and derives its name from thè naveta situated in thè des Tudons country estate in Ciutadella which resembles an upturned boat with its keel pointing to thè sky. Thcy are collective tombs used for sccondary burial, used in other words, as an ossuary, once thè flesh had been rcmovcd from thè bones in some other piace whose whereabouts is stili unknown io us. In many cases they have two storeys. These types of interments are confined to ila- linai years of thè Bronze Age which uwcr thè period known in Minorca as pre-talayolk. Some of them continued in use imo die beginning of talayotic times.
